Really loved it here. The food was amazing, staff were super helpful and friendly and the room was lovely. The whole hotel has been done out perfectly for the country escape feel and it's well spaced with great areas like the library or the sofas in the bar near the fire. Definitely recommend, value for money was excellent
Visited for Sunday Lunch only as we live locally.. Roast beef Sunday lunch was fabulous, beef cooked to how we asked, vegetables fresh and tasty...chef is definitely one to keep! Portions were more than generous. Service was a little disjointed but having only just reopened this was understandable, all staff were very polite and service at the table was impeccable. Great to be able to bring our dog with us, who was also made very welcome. Will be returning, fully recommend.
I'm a tour guide within the region, so have passed the golden fleece on my tours, while it was being built and when it opened. I made a silent promise to give it a try so I could recommend it to my visitors. How can I recommend something if I've not tried it myself? Well myself and my wife were pleasantly surprised when we booked for valentines day. An experience we truly enjoyed, i tried some new foods and can say we will be returning at somepoint. Really excellent hotel. Beautifully designed public spaces, large comfortable rooms (even the standard ones), good beds, walk in showers. Staff professional, and very friendly. Food good. Winter warmer package was brilliant value, including breakfast which was good. We have stayed here before and will definitely do so again.
Took three rooms for two nights. Absolutely amazing rooms and good cleanliness etc. Friendly staff. Great housekeeping. Food service pretty disappointing! Bar service friendly and good. Would definitely return. Stunning.
As a party of four, we greatly enjoyed the Xmas Eve brunch. It gave us a delightful start to Christmas. A glass of Prosecco or Bucks Fizz was provided as we arrived, with a wide selection of pastries. My Full English was cooked to perfection, with excellent ingredients. Tea and coffee were available in limitless supply. It is a beautiful modern hotel and provided a lovely environment for a Christmas celebration. The staff were helpful and attentive. I think that the Brunch was excellent value at £24. I couldn't recommend it highly enough on the basis of our experience. Thank you to everyone at The Fleece.
Lovely place to stay with attentive staff and great service. Rooms are modern, fresh with finished in style offering a comfortable place to relax. Eating evening meals in the restaurant offered a variety of meals all well prepared and generous portions. Breakfast can be simple cereal or a selection of made to order hot meals. Both breakfast and evening meals are complimented by great service from staff.
I can't rate this hotel highly enough. It's our go-to stop when travelling to visit family in England. Minutes off the motorway yet incredibly quiet. Rooms are extremely comfortable with lovely bedding, staff are friendly yet professional and the kitchen serves delicious meals. Their Dinner Bed & Breakfast package is amazing value. Just booked our forth stay.
